Randy Jackson, wife headed to divorce court

In Hollywood, many marriages do not last. In addition to the traditional stresses of being married, famous couples must also cope with one spouse who is touring or otherwise working long hours as well as with all the minute details of their life being put on display for the world in general. People in Mississippi may be interested to know that another couple, Randy Jackson and his wife Erika, has recently chosen to start the next chapter of their lives by filing for a divorce.

The divorce filing came after almost 19 years of marriage. It was filed in late September and lists the date of separation as approximately two weeks before. The couple have two children together but only one is a minor.

His wife is requesting several things. First, she is requesting joint legal custody of their 17-year-old son but sole physical custody. Additionally, she wants spousal support and for Randy Jackson to pay for her legal fees. She is also seeking to change her name back to her maiden name.

Marriage is difficult. Many people in Mississippi decide that it is in the best interest for everyone involved to start a new life, instead of trying to make one that isn't working a success. Once the decision to divorce is made, there are a significant number of decisions to make. Those with experience with the process can help those seeking a divorce determine what decisions need to be made and can help advocate for a person's best interests.
